To all those music fans who crave the grunge-groove style with lyrics and rhythms that cause your soul to stir and fists to clench and still remember a time when the most important part of a band was the music, a group of like-minded misfits have formed together with one quest in common: create something real. Blind Sight, one of Johnson City's hot up and coming bands formed in February 2002, have kept their focus simple and straight-edged. Trimming away the fat and ripping away the walls of the current structure of rock music only to rebuild them, Blind Sight's shocking sound leaves one stunned by the originality and quality and brings to mind past values of why you went to a show in the first place. Compelling lyrics with a surprisingly original vocal style, eager guitar riffs with solos that never detract from the song, and a rhythm section intent on creating a feel of crashing waves to awaken the spirit, there is no doubt of the focus and combined agreement of direction and intent.
There is hardly an adequate way to describe the feel of Blind Sight except to hear it yourself. While comparisons to Tool, Incubus, and Perfect circle come as close to any, most agree that what the quartet has created is definitely something different. Every member has the integrity of the song as the first thought on their mind, so unneeded solos or drum fills have been ousted leaving a sound and feel that belongs together, gathers attention, and fills a void with a vibe that is real.
