Nineball was formed in 1999 by high school friends Will Simpson (guitar, vocals) and Adam Hopper (drums) from the ashes of a handful of local rock bands in Monticello, Kentucky.
Shortly after recruiting another friend, Joe Stockton (bass, vocals), the guys began to seriously crank it out, releasing A Fine Upstanding Citizen EP, Smartless, and These Four Walls in the space of two years and touring a growing and rather eclectic assortment of regional venues—churches, nightclubs and skateparks—along the way.
In December of 2002, Nineball’s energetic Christian pop/punk found its current sound with the addition of another friend, bassist John Alexander (former photographer for Nineball), which allowed Joe Stockton to move to guitar and infused the stage show with added fun and frenzy. In the summer of 2003, Nineball released their “She’s A Killer EP” and in early January of 2004 completed a regional tour.
Showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon, Nineball has played with bands such as: Pax 217 (Forefront Records), Side Walk Slam (Tooth and Nail Records), When Sparks Fly (Nice Guy Records), and Number One Gun (Floodgate Records). They are now gearing up for release of their fifth cd, “Stay With Me” along with a tour to promote it in 2005.
