Brad Passons grew up a small town boy living in Chattanooga, Tennessee. As a child, he was exposed to music early on, spurring his interest in becoming a performer.
Throughout high school, Brad played with a few bands and started writing his own material. Now he’s realized his dream of being a full-time musician by working hard and making a name for himself on his own…not by waiting on a record deal. Brad never wanted to wait around on a deal when he new he could be self-sufficient.
In February 2004, “Set Up for Failure” was released. The first CD being independently released was a great challenge, but Brad was up for the task. Songs like “Jerk” and “My Last Name” were instant hits at the live shows.
“Because it Feels Good” was released July 22, 2004 just after coming back off the road. It was great to finally get the album released after recording on and off while on the road. The songs “I Want Your Girlfriend”, Georgia Avenue”, and “You’re so Dirty” are fan favorites.
Brad’s major influences include artists like Matt Nathanson, John Mayer, Butch Walker, and the like. He has played shows with the likes of Seth Horan (formerly of Vertical Horizon), Matt Nathanson, Jump Little Children, and Josh Bates.
